Severe weather awareness week is here… another sign of spring!!!!
Although the weather here in Minneapolis and surrounding areas does not feel like spring yet, I am here to remind (and encourage) you that it is so close!
Severe weather awareness week is designed to remind and educate everyone about seasonal threats from severe weather and how to avoid them. This is also a time to make and/or practice your emergency plan and build or refresh your emergency kit.
Each day of the week will focus on a different weather safety topic.
Monday – Alerts & Warnings
Tuesday – Severe Weather, Lighting and Hail
Wednesday – Floods
Thursday – Tornadoes (statewide drills)
Friday – Extreme Heat
To find out more information about any of these topics and learn more about the activities happening this week please visit the Minnesota Department of Public Safety here.
